Two Women at HoFP Gallery in Columbia, SC

HoFP Gallery is hosting Two Women, featuring the artwork of Nik Mason and Maci Scheuer. The show runs Oct. 12 - 31.

Nik Mason is a native of SC whose work is in the permanent collection of the Columbia Museum of Art. She was a finalist in the first national juried show of American Artist Magazine. Mason is a self-taught pastel artist who is working on images of the flora and fauna in her rural surroundings. Among those denizens you'll see chickens, horses, and Pew, an injured buzzard she nursed back to health who has now adopted her.

Maci Scheuer is a long-time resident of Camden where she lives with her husband and four children. She has practiced law and been a coach at the Buckley School of Public Speaking. Scheuer won recognition at the 1999 State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition. She is primarily self-taught, and paints images from her surrounding with a somewhat surreal perspective.
