Paint Spot Gallery in Black Mountain, NC, Features Works by Ann Whisenant

The Paint Spot and Gift Gallery in Black Mountain, NC, presents an exhibition of works by Ann Whisenant, an award winning artist. Paintings - Plain & Simple will be on display throughout the month of Oct.

Whisenant's work has been accepted into many judged and juried shows. She was born, raised and educated in England, and it was there she received her first training in art. This influenced her style which she has since developed. After graduating from college, she moved to America and now resides in Western NC.

Whisenant paints in oils and watercolor, the oils are bold and vibrant in color while the watercolors are clean, crisp and softer in tone. Her works range from large geometric abstracts to simple more realistic landscapes and still life. She often works on location with the minimum of equipment which enables her to go in search of paintable subjects not always available to everyone. Whisenant enjoys being able to transpose the intricate patterns of nature into simple designs of color.
