Red Piano Art Gallery on Hilton Head Island, SC, Features Works of Ray Ellis

Since 1982, The Red Piano Art Gallery in Hilton Head, SC, has been extremely honored to have given one of the foremost living American Impressionist painters, Ray Ellis, one-man exhibitions. With a great amount of enthusiasm, the gallery announces its upcoming premier fall 2001 exhibit, Oct. 27 - Nov. 24, entitled Ray Ellis - Lowcountry Visions. On exhibit will be classic Lowcountry imagery recently painted with only the vision that Ray Ellis possesses.

Collectors and numerous admirers of Ellis' work alike will be particularly impressed to know that the Telfair Museum of Art in Savannah, GA, is busily preparing to officially host a retrospective of Ellis' work in the Spring of 2004. The retrospective will consist of approximately 85 of Ellis' finest paintings in oil and watercolor, including rustic Lowcountry landscapes and the marine and sporting pictures for which he is so acclaimed. The retrospective will travel to other East Coast venues after it closes at the Telfair.

Ellis was born in Philadelphia, PA and attended the famed Philadelphia Museum School of Art. His first one-man show was held in 1947 at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He has received the award of merit from the prestigious Salmagundi Club in New York City and is an elected member of the American Watercolor Society. His paintings are in the permanent collections of museums nationwide on permanent view among several national corporations and owned by hundreds of private collectors worldwide.
