Undoubtedly, didactic goals of the exhibition extend our comprehension of the works of art. We are invited to experience quite a diverse interpretation of aesthetic problems in accordance with the artist's proficiency in graphic media. The exposure highlights the uniqueness of the self-expression in relation to chosen specific graphic language. The difference in the formal elements of art responds to the individuality of the authors. For example the fineness of the woodcut bespeaks of Durer's profound mental investigations. John Martin uses the exquisiteness of the mezzotint engraving to convey the delicacy of the human feelings. Lithography, mainly used in newspapers in nineteenth century, enhances Daumier's satire overtones in his visual reportages.

Charles Bennett

This exhibition is not only aiming to familiarize the public with the working methods of the artists but also reveal the process of building up a personal revelation in the process of creating a work of graphic art.
