Municipal Building in Raleigh, NC, Features Works by Carson Boone, Kathy Dow and Maureen McGregor

Photographs by Carson Boone and Kathy Dow, as well as pots by Maureen McGregor will be on view through Nov. 18, 2004, at the Raleigh Municipal Building in downtown Raleigh, NC.

Carson Boone's latest work, seven large, hand tinted, black and white photographs, are homages to 1940's pulp fiction detective magazine covers. With titles including: Dragon Ladys Revenge and Kaleidoscope Killer, the subjects are local friends of the artist posed in vintage clothes and staged props, accomplished in the artist's studio home.

Kathy Dow exhibits black and white photographs of residents, workers and visitors to Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh in 1992, and color photographs made in 2001, taken mostly in Raleigh and featuring images reflected in water, including the lily ponds on Fayetteveille Street.

Maureen McGregor displays pebble pots that are inspired by ice-worn and water-worn stones, and taller clay pieces inspired by trees, roots, pods, shells and the human form.
