Center of the Earth Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Chris Stephens and Elena Madden

Center of the Earth Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is presenting an exhibition of works by Chris Stephens and Elena Madden, on view through Oct. 22, 2005.

Chris Stephens uses vibrant colors to portray the sweeping landscapes of the Shenandoah Valley. Architectural elements populate his new paintings as well. Stephens holds an MFA from James Madison University. His work can be found in numerous collections including SAS Institute, American Express, Bell Atlantic, First Union National Bank, Wachovia Bank & Trust, and UNC Women's and Children's Hospital.

In dynamic, colorful abstract paintings, Elena Madden captures the fleeting pattern and light of moving water that suggests nature's rhythms. She develops her imagery in the Eastern tradition of creating from memory. Madden earned a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design and her work is in the collections of Duke University, Bell South, The Tennessee Valley Authority and numerous private collections.
