Institute at Palm Key near Ridgeland, SC, Offers Art and Music on the Porches

An invitational art exhibit and sale on the porches of the cottages surrounding Palm Key Nature Getaway hosted by the Institute at Palm Key in Ridgeland, SC, will take place on Oct. 14 & 15, 2005 from 9am-4pm. The music concerts take place each evening from 6pm-until. The Institute at Palm Key is a non-profit organization dedicated to education for all ages.

The art exhibit and sale, Art on the Porches, is a two day event held at the Palm Key Nature Getaway. The cottage community is surrounded by the marshes of the Broad River. Artwork being offered includes: baskets, painting, sculpture, crafts and jewelry. Space may still available for interested artists.

Last year's event attracted over 500 people. This year's event has been expanded to include concerts each evening by local musicians "Shannon Tanner" and Gene & Scott of "The Lawn Jockeys". We are very excited about this new dimension of music at the Art on the Porches event and look forward to expanding into a full music festival by 2006.
