New Bern ArtWorks & Company in New Bern, NC, Changes Name to “Fine Art at Baxters”

With New Bern ArtWorks & Company’s relocation two years ago to 323 Pollock Street in downtown New Bern, NC, behind them, partners Jim Bisbee, Donna Slade, Martha Williams, and Vicki Vitale now feel it is time for a new name, “Fine Art at Baxters.” The new name will more accurately reflect the line-up of high-quality fine art created by emerging and established local and regional artists exhibited in one of New Bern’s most iconic historic buildings, formally Baxter’s Jewelry Store (1918). The stately (4,500 square-foot) building has a two-story ceiling, huge skylight in the main gallery showroom and its’ antique glass showcases that line both sides of the gallery floor. With its new distinction, the new name brings a new logo, signage and website – (www.fineartatbaxters.com).

The new location has been wonderful for our business. The concept of working artist studios and a fine art gallery has been an attraction for both the local community as well as visitors from near and far. What has been particularly gratifying for us has been the response of the local community in terms of how they appreciate our stewardship of this community asset. People really appreciate the way we honored the history of the building by retaining the look and feel of the past.

Fine Art at Baxters is still committed to presenting the finest quality and widest selection of original art in a variety of styles, media and price points. The gallery is dedicated to assisting the new collector as well as corporate and experienced private collectors. We will continue to offer a welcoming and comfortable environment where viewers of all ages can experience the emotions and excitement that our artists have created through their work.
Fine Art at Baxters has an exciting line-up of exhibits scheduled for 2014 and will continue to represent artists that consistently produce high quality work and the gallery owners take pride in the solid relationships between their artists and their clients.

Fine Art at Baxters is located at 323 Pollock Street, (look for the big clock) in downtown New Bern. The gallery is open Mon.-Fri., 10am-6pm and Sat., 10am-5pm.
