Artworks Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, Features Works by Alix Hitchcock, Kate Magruder, and Lea Lackey-Zachmann

Artworks Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, is presenting a three-person show of works on paper by Alix Hitchcock, ceramics by Kate Magruder, and mixed media works by Lea Lackey-Zachmann on view Jan. 8 through Feb. 9, 2002.

Alix Hitchcock is showing monoprints and other works on paper that involve imagery from nature combined with figurative elements in an abstracted field. Hitchcock is the Drawing Instructor at Wake Forest University. She received her MA in painting from New York University and her BFA in painting and printmaking from the UNC-Greensboro.

Kate Magruder is showing ceramic tile work that is wall mounted, with imagery from nature as the pervading theme. Magruder has a BFA in art history from Southern Methodist University, and studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute.

Lea Lackey-Zachmann is showing work following the theme of Earth, a continuation of her study of the elements. Zachmann received her MFA in painting from UNC-Greensboro and currently teaches art at High Point University.
