Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Kelly Chelena and Michael McChesney

During the month of Jan. 2005, Asheville Gallery of Art will host an exhibit of works by two new member-artists: Kelly Chelena of Hendersonville, NC, and Michael McChesney of Flat Rock, NC.

Chelena studied art at the University of Georgia and Georgia State University. Both her representative and abstract paintings have won awards in juried shows throughout the Southeast.

McChesney was an art major at Macalester College, and while teaching art in California continued his graduate studies at Sacramento State College. His teaching career took him to Minnesota, where he attended the University of Minnesota for further graduate studies. McChesney's style is most closely related to the California Photo Superealists.

In addition to his paintings, McChesney will be exhibiting sculpture works.

Asheville Gallery of Art is a co-op gallery representing works by 30 regional artists.
