Maddi's Gallery Opens Second Location in Charlotte, NC, Area

Maddi's Gallery has opened its second location at Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC. The new 3,000 sq. ft. art gallery features work by more than 500 American artists, primarily in fine craft, jewelry and Southern folk art.

Maddi's Gallery is owned by Diane and Madis Sulg who opened the original Maddi's two years ago at 1530 East Boulevard in Charlotte. That gallery is still considered the flagship location, but as the owners point out, "it was literally bursting at the seams and so a second location means we can continue to grow and bring our customers more wonderful art."

The Birkdale location features mini "departments" of art for the home, garden, and to wear, as well as for children and seasonal exhibits. There is a wide selection of hand-blown glass, pottery, wood and metal created by artists from North Carolina and across the country. The gallery represents more than 100 jewelry artists working in precious metals, beads, clay and lucite. Maddi's is the only Charlotte area gallery featuring Southern folk art, with work by 100 contemporary artists who are widely collected by folk art devotees.

Maddi's at Birkdale remains a family tradition. It is managed by the Sulg's daughter and son-in-law, Michaella and Jon Dalton.
