Merrill-Jennings Galleries in Davidson, NC, Features Surreal Art Exhibit

Salvador Dali, photo by Marc Lacroix

Merrill-Jennings Galleries, in Davidson, NC, celebrates its 30th Anniversary (originally the galleries were in Bryn Mawr and West Chester, PA) with Magical Mystery 2000, a survey of Surrealism and fantasy art. The show continues through Thanksgiving. Featured are original etchings and lithographs by Spanish Master of Surrealism, Salvador Dali. Related are a collection of eight large original photographs of Dali by Parisian photographer Marc Lacroix. These photos are permanently on display at the Salvador Dali Museum, Figueras, Spain.

International fantasy artist Michael Parkes will offer original stone lithographs, while three Romanian-born artists: Laila Farcas-Ionesco, Anka Pedvisocar, and Dan Mitra will contribute original works. The fantasy oil florals by Charles Jay (Philadelphia) are also included.

The gallery is especially pleased to exhibit the recent works by three local Surrealist/Fantasy painters: Jennifer Giloman, Katherine Nelson, and Tyler Strouth.
