Artworks Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, Features Work by Arthur Pierson and Elsie Dinsmore Popkin

Artworks Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, is presenting a two-person exhibit of mixed media by Arthur Pierson and pastel landscapes by Elsie Dinsmore Popkin. The exhibit will run through Nov. 17.

Arthur Pierson is showing relief work in a box motif on the wall. All involve heads within the boxes, with the theme of stories about places and peoples' involvement in them. Pierson went to the Rhode Island School of Design, and studied in Boston at the Graphics Workshop.

Elsie Dinsmore Popkin is showing pastels done on site in NC, New York City (Central Park and Gracie Mansion gardens), and coastal New England (Nantucket and Appledore Island, Maine). Popkin has been a Fellow at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts and at Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, NY. She shows at the Uptown Gallery in NYC.
