Hand in Hand Gallery in Hendersonville, NC, Presents Exhibit in Local Restaurant

Hand in Hand Gallery and The Gypsy Cab Co. in Hendersonville, NC, will host an exhibit for Henderson County artists Cynthia Wilson and Michael Gilboy from Nov. 11 through Jan. 3, 2004 at The Gypsy Cab Co. New work by both artists will be on display and for sale at the restaurant.

Wilson is a nationally recognized painter for her naturalistic acrylic paintings. She has been represented in several books and is a member of the New England Watercolor Society, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic. She has received awards from several national and regional exhibitions. Wilson says: "Although I paint from nature, there is a certain point when the painting becomes something other than a representation of what I see. The actual process of painting for me is tied more to viewpoint and inner vision than to technique."

Michael Gilboy uses strong, vibrant colors in his still life oil paintings. His work has been displayed in many regional and national competitions and he has received First Place awards from the Transylvania County Arts Council and Tryon Fine Arts Center. As a full time artist and avid sailor he says: "Both are solitary; both begin filled with apprehension; both demand an understanding of the relationship of everything within sight-the horizon is like the edge of a canvas."

Hand in Hand Gallery has hung artwork of various artists at the popular Main Street restaurant since its inception in 2002.
