The Wells Gallery in Charleston, SC, Offers Works by William Jameson

From the Caribbean to the coast of the Carolinas Charleston painter William Jameson brings a new perspective to coastal landscapes in the exhibition, Southern Waters - Southern Skies. The exhibit will be on view at The Wells Gallery in Charleston, SC, Nov. 3 - 25, 2003.

Deciding at an early age to pursue his love of art, Jameson attended the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, followed by the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, FL.

Jameson's success has traveled far beyond the confines of South Carolina. His work has been spotlighted in numerous galleries and museums across the nation. For years he has held workshops from the mountains of North Carolina to New Mexico, and Europe.

In his new exhibit Jameson has chosen to focus his artistic eye from the Caribbean to the coast of South Carolina. "Over the past forty years, I've spent a great deal of time on the water and when not on the water I've been somewhere in the world looking at the water. Our Southern water and sky with their constant changes of light, of season and of weather provide a continuous and challenging source of subject matter."

Jameson's work offers the viewer a glimpse of brilliance throughout the Lowcountry and beyond. "The Charleston Harbor is particularly fascinating to me with its history and its variety of activities. I planned this exhibit in part from two perspectives of seeing Charleston Harbor: from the water and from the land observing the water and sky."

The Wells Gallery invites you to stroll the streets of Charleston's historic district while enjoying Charleston Fine Art Dealers' Association's Annual, Nov. 7-9, 2003. Nine CFADA galleries will host receptions for both local and visiting artists and present other activities.
