Beaufort Art Association in Beaufort, SC, Presents Watercolor Exhibition and Holiday Boutique

The Beaufort Art Association in Beaufort, SC, will present the exhibit, The South Carolina Watercolor Society's 27th Annual Awards Exhibition, from Nov. 1 - 29, 2004, and its second annual Holiday Boutique, from Nov. 1 - Jan. 3, 2005.
The South Carolina Watercolor Society is the largest statewide visual arts organization in SC and is active in presenting art and arts service. This traveling exhibition features the top award-winning works from the Society's annual member juried exhibition. This year's exhibition juror, Warren Taylor, calls this year's SCWS exhibit a "rich swath of creativity" and reminds all citizens that the arts are the "jewels of our civilization."

Visitors can expect to see such jewels as Del Holt's "Best in Show" watercolor entitled Ninety-eight Beautiful Birds in the Tree and Daniel Cromer's Tomorrow You Fish? which won the President's Award. Hilton Head, SC, is represented in the show by Tom Ratcliffe's watercolor, Dawn at the Fish Hall, and Lynn Parrott's Deliverance.
A limited number of exhibit catelogues from the SCWS show will be on sale for $1 at the Gallery.
BAA is a nonprofit organization funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The South Carolina Watercolor Society nurtures and promotes South Carolina artists by providing exhibition opportunities and educational programs. SCWS also provides the public with many quality art experiences.
The Holiday Boutique features a host of unique, creative and artful gifts ranging from tree ornaments and hand-crafted glass to painted glassware and holiday floral arrangements. The Holiday Boutique is a part of the Beaufort Art Association's Art Gallery that displays the work of local artists.
