South Carolina Artisans Center in Walterboro, SC, Host Holiday Craft Show

The South Carolina Artisans Center in Walterboro, SC, will host a Holiday Craft Show on Nov. 20, from 9:30am-6pm and Nov. 21, from 11am-5:30pm, at the University of South Carolina, Salkehatchie Branch in Walterboro.

The Holiday Craft Show is sponsored by the South Carolina Artisans Center the official state marketplace for over 275 juried artists and craftsmen. The juried show will represent some of the Southeast's best 3-dimensional artists that will include fine works in ceramic/clay, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, paper and wood. Artists will be demonstrating their craft throughout the show. Master musicians representing the different regions of South Carolina will be entertaining and light concessions will be offered.

An Opening Gala held on Nov. 19, will offer a preview to those selective shoppers that enjoy leisurely shopping, visiting with artists and friends and sampling of a light Lowcountry Menu. Tickets for the Gala can be purchased in advance from the Center.

The South Carolina Artisans Center has been designated the official folk art and fine craft center for the entire state. Housed in a restored Victorian cottage, the Center provides a showcase and market for the handcrafted work of nearly 280 of the state's leading artists. The Center offers educational and interpretive displays of Southern folklife and traditions. Its mission is to enhance the appreciation and understanding of the rich cultural heritage of South Carolina.
