b.brown gallery in Matthews, NC, Features Works by bonnie brown fergus and Cynthia Howard

b.brown gallery in Matthews, NC, will present an exhibit of works by bonnie brown fergus and Cynthia Howard, on view from Nov. 4 through Dec. 1, 2006.

bonnie brown fergus began her fascination with painting at her grandmother's knee. That encouragement and inspiration has shaped her life's journey and ultimately led her to become a professional artist and open the b.brown gallery in 2005. Whether fergus is painting realism or contemporary subject matter, she takes great care to balance the design elements with the visual journey. She is introducing two new styles at this show: collaged floral still lifes on canvas and a new twist on classic genre painting.

Cynthia Howard began painting more than 30 years ago when she lived in Missouri. Over her career she has taught art classes and organized community art centers and art shows. In addition to painting, she practiced stained glass with works installed in churches, office buildings, and many private residences. She has been described as a Romantic Impressionist. Howard's landscapes and waterscapes have a timeless quality to them and evoke memories of places we have seen or perhaps dreamed about. One can expect the surprise of old world influences through open windows and inviting doorways.
