Silver Fox Gallery in Hendersonville, NC, Features Works by Dale Weiler and Annie Weiler

Silver Fox Gallery in Hendersonville, NC, is presenting the exhibit, Celebrate Life, featuring works by stone sculptor Dale Weiler and painter Annie Weiler. The exhibit, part of the gallery's Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities will be on view through Nov. 22, 2006.

The exhibition features four limited edition bronze sculptures by Dale Weiler and a dozen original paintings by Annie Weiler. The couple resides in Tryon, NC.

Dale Weiler began his art career in 1992 following several decades in the business world during which he honored his father's wishes for him to pursue a more "financially rewarding" profession than art. (Dale's father, Milton C. Weiler, was a highly acclaimed and world renowned wildlife watercolorist.) When Dale sculpted the four pieces in this exhibition, his wife, Annie, and his close friend and mentor, David, were both battling cancer. Although Annie was successful in her battle, David was not. The experience, Weiler says, had a permanent and profound affect on his perspectives on life, priorities and purpose.

Annie Weiler, who refers to herself as an emerging artist, says her paintings are a reflection of her inner world. Although she began making art more than 20 years ago, a diagnosis of breast cancer in 1998 became a turning point in her life and in her painting. She left a lucrative consulting career because it was "soul numbing," and discovered that her new career was to go "inward" and to concentrate on her healing, which included making art.

Dale Weiler's sculpture, which is primarily of wildlife, is represented by numerous fine art galleries and resides in private and corporate collections and museums throughout the United States and Europe.

Annie Weiler made her public debut in 2005/2006 in juried competitions in Greenville and Spartanburg, SC, and at the Upstairs ArtSpace in Tryon, NC.
