Picture This Gallery on Hilton Head Island, SC, Features Works by Juliana Kim

Picture This Gallery on Hilton Head Island, SC, will present the exhibit, Visual Wanderings, featuring works by Juliana Kim, on view from Nov. 4 - 30, 2009. The exhibit features collected works in oil, acrylic and mixed media, based on imagery and concepts.

Kim divides her time between Boston, MA, and Hilton Head Island, with a large working studio in the South End (or SOWA) district of Boston, where she works on contemporary pieces during summer months.

"I love color. My favorite landscape artists are Homer and Turner," Kim said. Her favorite contemporary influences include Diebenkorn, Bartlett, Rothko, Matisse. She is also greatly influenced by her travels and extensive reading on Greece and Turkey, with a new concentration on Africa and its issues.

"Juliana has the capacity for picking up the mood of the environment she is trying to convey on canvas or paper, as seen in Caps and Caves, oil on canvas," said Mira Scott, of Picture This Gallery.
