Beet Contemporary Crafts in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Joanna Angell, Robin Beckett and Rowanne Joyner

Beet Contemporary Crafts & Functional Art in Charlotte, NC, is presenting the exhibit, Three Carolina Clay Artists, featuring works by Joanna Angell, Robin Beckett and Rowanne Joyner, on view through Jan. 30, 2010.

Joanna Angell creates pinch pots and sculptural wall pieces from porcelain clay. Her work is inspired by the beauty and complexity of the natural world, spiritual spaces and senses, and by memory and fancy, hopes and dreams.

Robin Beckett specializes in thrown stoneware functional pottery with hand-built embellishments. Her dinnerware, serving pieces, and kitchenware delight the hand and eye in rich earthy glazes.

Rowanne Joyner works primarily with porcelain clay. Her thrown and textured functional pottery marries simplicity with timeless design elements and invites us to recognize and cherish the beauty in everyday life.
