Skyuka Fine Art in Tryon, NC, Offers Works by Richard Christian Nelson

Skyuka Fine Art in Tryon, NC, is presenting Recent Works - Richard Christian Nelson, on view through Nov. 30, 2013.

Nelson is an award-winning portrait and gallery artist residing in Tryon, NC. He accompanied his ‘Plein Air Painters of the Southeast’ group (PAPSE) in September on their annual painting trek, this year to Boothbay, ME, and painted many seascapes. Nelson’s still life paintings reflect recent visits to Charleston, Florida, and Cashiers, which also round this fresh body of work. His recent ‘Top 10’ award from the Portrait Society of America’s International Portrait Competition for “Luke at 15” will also be on display.

Other awards Nelson has recently won include: “First Place-Commissioned Portraits” Members Only Competition-Portrait Society of America, “Certificate of Excellence”-PSOA’s International Competition, “Finalist-Portrait/Figure” category of The Artists Magazine 27th Annual Art Competition, “1st Place-Oil” and “Honorable Mention-Drawing” from the Portrait Society of America’s ‘Choose Your Medium’ Portrait Competition, and “2nd Place-Portrait Society Of America’s ‘Outdoor Portrait’ Competition”, just to name a few. His work has been featured in American Artist, American Art Collector, International Artist, and The Portrait Society Of America’s magazine, and he is listed in Who’s Who in American Art. This month he is featured on the cover of The Laurel of Asheville with a recent portrait.
