Spencer Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Bernadette Cali

The Spencer Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, is presenting a special exhibit of new works by a new guest artist Bernadette Cali. The exhibit will continue until Jan. 31, 2001.

Bernadette Cali is a local artist who has had a long romance with local sea island landscape and culture. Having lived on Wadmalaw Island for 24 years, she is devoting herself full time to capturing the vanishing lifestyle and culture of her friends and neighbors. There are now 17 limited edition prints in the series as well as numerous original works. She is currently working on a book containing her art and stories.

"Cali's art and stories are unique and have an exciting charm," says Jerry Spencer, gallery owner. "Her work capturing a the culture of Wadmalaw Island will undoubtably have historical importance."
