Walls Fine Art Gallery in Wilmington, NC, Offers Group Show for End of Year

Walls Fine Art Gallery in Wilmington, NC, is presenting, Small, Medium, and Large, featuring works by Charles Movalli, John Poon, Perry Austin, and Robert Isley.

All four artists have worked together and admire one another's paintings, yet are as individual as their collectors. The energetic and colorful paintings by Charles Movalli (MA) have a balance where each stroke is placed strategically and values are studied and chosen to appropriately draw the structure, distance, whole. John Poon's (WY) restrained color and tight value range express the calm, searching nature of the artist himself while providing the elements of composition, balance, harmony of a painting that will live and be admired far into the future.

The group of paintings by Perry Austin (AL) focuses on his beloved fly fishing - if you fly fish, you know exactly how he feels. The paintings hold the smell of fallen leaves or wet pine forest, the feel of morning mist rising off the water or the coming chill of evening - all in Austin's strong foundational washes and calligraphic final strokes.

We walk or drive by Robert Isley's (GA) subject matter everyday: storefronts, parking lots, neighborhoods. Isley demonstrates the delightful in the everyday. The light and color in his small paintings draw the viewer near to enjoy the staccato expressive brushstrokes.

All four atists drag after them lists of awards and recognition. We show them because they are remarkable painters.
