RedSky Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Gina Strumpf

The RedSky Gallery's new Dilworth location in Charlotte, NC, will present the exhibit, Kaleidoscope Travels, featuring works by Gina Strumpf, on view from Dec. 8 through Jan. 11, 2006.

Strumpf's recent paintings reflect her travels through Europe and reveal her fascination for the countryside of France and Tuscany. From the Roof tops of Brantome to the Shops by the River Dronne, Strumpf captures the colorful energy of the environment. Now back in Charlotte, she finds that expressing herself creatively through painting balances her busy work day as an active realtor.

While the familiar forms of her landscapes reflect that which we see in nature, her vibrant hues bring out the excitement of their natural beauty. Strumpf's enticing color palettes are inspired from her passion for gardening and her love of the outdoors.

Strumpf's work has been shown in a One Woman show at the Artist Gallery and recently in a juried regional show. She studied water color illustration with Josette Gourley and won numerous awards in school. Strumpf was selected to spend a summer at the NC School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC, and she received a full art scholarship to Traphagen School of Fashion in New York City.

Strumpf's art education includes water color studies with local artist Nancy Couick and oil with national artists including Rebecca Schweiger and Andy Braitman along with workshop studies in Southern France and Tuscany. She is also a member of the Charlotte Art League.

In 2003, Kellie Scott founded RedSky Gallery to showcase fine arts and crafts. Gallery visitors will find a pleasing array of high quality collections that encompass a variety of styles and price points. As the gallery's owner, Scott is committed to representing the best in local and national contemporary art.

In addition to the gallery's collection of contemporary paintings, including pastels, oils, watercolors, and mixed media, RedSky offers exceptional creations in glass, metal, ceramics, wood, and basketry. RedSky also has a wide selection of home accessories, jewelry and art-to-wear. Currently RedSky represents over 450 artists and hosts exhibitions every other month featuring both emerging and established artists.
