Durham Arts Council in Durham, NC, Features Exhibition of Paintings by Eric McRay

Seeing is Believing, an exhibition of paintings by artist Eric McRay is on view in the Allenton Gallery of the Durham Arts Council, in Durham, NC, through Feb. 19.

The exhibit's focus is on jazz imagery, which showcases McRay's expressive use of color and contemporary and abstract imagery.

A native of Washington, DC, and formally trained at the Maryland Institute, College of Art, McRay is a current resident artist, board member and Artist Association Vice-President of Raleigh's Artspace. His work resides in many private and corporate collections throughout the world. Corporate collectors include Central Carolina Bank, Texas Gulf Corporation, Duke University Medical Center, Goodwill Industries, Western Wake Hospital, and Glaxo-Wellcome.

The Durham Arts Council, Inc. (DAC) is a private, not-for-profit, organization that promotes programs for the creation and experience of the arts for the people of Durham and the Triangle area. DAC manages the Durham Arts Council, a community arts center that houses the council and several local arts organizations. DAC's programs include grants to artists and arts organizations; exhibits; classes in the performing and visual arts; public and private school residencies; CenterFest, Durham's annual street arts festival; and Edible Arts Festival of Food and Art.
