Arts Center in Lexington, NC, Features Work of David Wilson

The Arts Center, home of Arts United for Davidson County in Lexington, NC, is pleased to present the work of artist David Wilson for Black History Month. The exhibition entitled, David Wilson - Painter, Illustrator & Designer, will be on view through Feb. 27, 2002.

Wilson was born and raised in Clarksburg, WV. As a young child, he had a strong interest in the arts. Encouraged by family and friends, he studied art throughout secondary school and went from there on to Hampton University to major in Graphic Design. During his junior year, however, Wilson's interest switched to the fine arts with the meeting of prolific artist/muralist, John Biggers. Under Biggers, he discovered the rich heritage of black art.
