Charleston County Library in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Pat Van de Graaf

Artist Pat Van de Graaf will share her work throughout the month of Feb., 2003, in the Saul Alexander Gallery, located on the first floor of the downtown Main Library of the Charleston County Public Library System, in downtown Charleston, SC. Van de Graaf's exhibition is entitled, The Lowcountry in Watercolor and Print.

Van de Graaf has been printing for over 25 years and studied at the Art Students League in New York City and Syracuse University. She graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a degree in Printmaking/Art History in 1990. She also studied with the late printmaker Jim Egleson and with University of Bridgeport professor and printmaker Jack O'Hara.

Van de Graaf is an artist and printmaker. She is a member of Print Studio South in Charleston and monitors in the studio. She is an Artist Member of The Silvermine Guild of Artists where she has volunteered for many years and in many capacities.

In the majority of her work, Van de Graaf attempts to simplify the elements in the objects she sees, thus redefining them so as to best convey their own special and unique beauty or directed emotion.
