Charleston Art Gallery & Portrait Studio in Charleston, SC, Offers Works by T.M. Tremaine & Kelly Green

A photographic experience of Montana, Africa, & Beyond, is awaiting the viewer at Charleston Art Gallery & Portrait Studio in Charleston, SC's French Quarter art district through Feb. 28, 2005. Limited edition photographs by T.M. Tremaine and Kelly Green present the viewer with the vicarious appreciation of wildlife "close up and personal," to quote the popular expression.

From Tremaine's depiction of the Serengeti plains to Green's presentation of the magnificent Montana, "this exhibition of fine art photography will be a treat for nature lovers as well as those who just enjoy excellent photography," says Cecile Langham Cothran, owner of the gallery and oil portraitist.

Those who know Tremaine best for his "vignettes" of Charleston will be pleased at the versatility of the photographer in capturing some unusual moments in the wildlife kingdom. This will be the first time exhibit for some of his photos from a 2003 trip to Africa.

Kelly Green

"Kelly Green's macro photography of flora and fauna fascinates everyone who comes into the gallery," says Cothran. "All her work is hand printed. The larger pieces have to be done in Charlotte because there's no one closer with the equipment to accomplish this. Her investment in lenses has, of course, been huge, and she hopes to be able to purchase the equipment to print the larger pieces herself soon." Green studied at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, MT. Upon completion of the course, she was invited to stay and assist in the instruction of others.
