Rider offers the following about her work: "Whether I am expressing excitement or quietness, a sense of time or place, water media gives me the versatility I seek. Its results can be both predictable and surprising, bringing impact to the viewer. I paint the things I love, including bright bold florals, the shimmer of light bouncing off water, the aging texture of stucco walls, seasonal colors and abstract design, including collage."
