Arts Council of York County in Rock Hill, SC, Features Works by Marge Moody

The Arts Council of York County in Rock Hill, SC, is presenting the exhibit, Recent Works, featuring works by Marge Loudon Moody in the Council's Dalton Gallery through Feb. 16, 2008.

Moody was raised in Kenya until her family moved to Scotland when she was 14, where she completed her traditional education. She moved to the United States in 1982 and has been living in Rock Hill for the past 22 years with her family. Moody is currently a full-time professor of Art at Winthrop University.

Moody began her career as a professional artist after graduating from Art College in Scotland in 1972. She has been recognized for her talent numerous times, receiving grants from the SC Arts Commission, the Arts & Science Council of Mecklenburg County and Winthrop University.

Moody's work has been on display in Washington, DC, New York City and Edinburgh, Scotland. Her pieces can be found in over 60 private and corporate collections in both the United States and Great Britain, as well as in the SC State Art Collection.

Moody deals mostly in abstraction, using both painting and collage as mediums. Much of her work is born out of her observations and interactions with her surroundings. Recent Works will feature selected pieces from her "Italy" series, a reflection of observations she made while visiting the country.
