SC Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition on Hilton Head Island, SC

The South Carolina Watercolor Society (SCWS) will host its 24th Annual Awards Exhibition on Hilton Head Island, SC, from Apr. 20 through Jun. 24, 2001 at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn, the museum's newly acquired historic and scenic facility. Artists (members and guest members) may deliver their entry to Shelter Cove Mall on Hilton Head Island on April 20 or 21 from 10am ­ 4pm or use one of the nine art transport delivery sites across the state. There will be $10,000 in cash awards presented to the top thirty paintings, including a $1,000 Best in Show.

The juror is Michael Schlicting, AWS from Portland, OR, who will also conduct a watermedia workshop, Going Beyond the Obvious, in Beaufort, SC, from Apr. 23 ­ 27. The workshop is limited to 25 students, the fee is $295, and open on a first-come, first-serve basis. In addition, Art Market, a special event for sales and display of more than 250 entries will be held at the Shelter Cove Mall on Hilton Head Island from Apr. 20 - 27, 2001. The opening reception will follow the Awards Luncheon on the evening of May 5 at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn.
