Christopher Terry: Remembered Interiors at Hidell Brooks Gallery in Charlotte, NC
Hidell Brooks Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is pleased to announce their first solo exhibition for Christopher Terry. Entitled Remembered Interiors, this solo exhibition will run March 7 - April 26.
Christopher Terry is currently a Professor of Art at Utah State University in Logan, UT where he has been teaching for over fifteen years. He received his M.F.A. in painting from the University of Wisconsin. He recently was awarded his second Fulbright Scholar Award for teaching and research in Germany. Christopher Terry's subjects invariably appear as simple, straightforward and uncluttered scenes of domestic calm that reside squarely and solidly in place. His empty rooms are dominated by tables draped with white linens and perfectly placed still lifes. The focus of the paintings is the selection of images, the use of light and color relationships. Terry attempts to build a rhythm in his work that recalls the pace of ritual and dreams as our subconscious asks the question about who or what has been here, or better still, who or what will be here.
