City Gallery at the Dock Street Theatre in Charleston, SC, Offers Works by Renée Kahn

City Gallery at the Dock Street Theatre in Charleston, SC, will present an exhibit of acrylic on canvas by Charleston artist Renée Kahn, Mar. 10 through Apr. 9, 2004, entitled Art Through A Spiritual Eye.

Kahn started painting at the age of twelve at the Art Student's League of New York. She majored in art at the City College of New York, and received a Masters of Art in Teaching from Brown University. She went on to teach fine arts and art history in Providence, RI. Her love of painting lead her to pursue this interest full-time and she has since been painting and exhibiting her work nationally.

Kahn comments on her work: "I have always been interested in interpersonal relationships, whether depicting family dynamics, religious or spiritual themes, or capturing the magical moments between people, a contemplative moment, or a spiritual mood or awakening. Expressionistic, with a strong sense of color and design, my paintings capture a moment in emotional time."
