Richland County Public Library in Columbia, SC, Features Works by Luis Fuentes

Artwork by Luis Fuentes will be on display in the Wachovia Gallery of the Richland County Public Library in downtown Columbia, SC, through Apr. 10, 2005. The mixed media exhibit will include works in watercolor and oil.

A frequent visitor to the Columbia area, Fuentes resides in Arequipa, Peru. He studied art at the Carlos Baca Flor for the Fine Arts in Peru from 1987-1991. His work has been featured at the Wiese Bank Gallery in Arequipa as well as the Tourist Hotel Gallery in Ilo, Peru. 

Fuentes has also received many awards for his work, including first prize in the Peruvian National Watercolor competition, and was also awarded a Diploma of Recognition in 1991 by the Peruvian National Cultural Institute for his contribution to the development of Arequipan art.
