Haywood County Arts Council in Waynesville, NC, Features Furniture Exhibition

Sabbath Day Woods

The Haywood County Arts Council in Waynesville, NC, will present, Regional Interiors: Exhibit and Showroom, on view in the Council's Gallery 86, from Mar. 7 - 31, 2007. The exhibit will feature all locally made furniture and furnishing to create an actual livable space. There will even be a handcrafted bathroom!

The focus of this exhibit is to reinforce the idea that Western North Carolina has a style unique to its own. You don't have to buy imported furnishings to create that rustic WNC vacation home feel. With all the development happening around us, people need to spend their interior decorating allowances on furnishings that are regionally created.

Susan Link

Since the mission at the Haywood County Arts Council is to educate and support the local arts community, they will do just that by exhibiting fine crafted furniture, locally made ceramics, lamps, bathroom equipment, and of course, textiles.

By designing your home with locally made resources, and buying from the small businesses that cater to your decorative needs, you will be changing the way the arts community is supported.

Featured artisans are Susan Link, Roy Duverger, Desmond Suarez of Sabbath Day Woods, Peter Parpan, Fadie Atkinson, Diane Lee, Greg Paolini, Sheree Sorrells, Pat Burke, Mud Dabbers Pottery, Dennis Pitter, Classy Glass, Flemming Plumbing and Heating, Kaaren Stoner, and many more.

The exhibit is supported by HandMade in America, located in Asheville, NC.
