March Issue 2008

Artist Guild Gallery of Greenville in Greenville, SC, Offers Works by Janina Tukarski-Ellis

The Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville, in downtown Greenville, SC, is proud to have Janina Tukarski-Ellis to be our guest artist for the month of March. Tukarski-Ellis' works will be on display from Mar. 1 - 31, 2008.

The Guild is excited to have such a fresh style of paintings. Tukarski-Ellis' style has been aptly described as "peaceful yet still subtly invigorating." She has combined the masterful lighting techniques found in realism with the bold brushstrokes of impressionism to create her own unique style. Although her subject matter ranges from simple still life to frivolous abstract, a viewer can see her signature textures and vivid colors permeating throughout her work.

Tukarski-Ellis comes from a family of painters, which has given her positive direction in her profession. She lived in Munich, Germany for many years and then moved to the states. She met her husband in Germany and after they married they moved to the states and now live in Greer, SC.

The current members of the Guild include: Branko Bosnic, Laura Buxo, Gerda Bowman, Linda Carole, Pat Cato, Laura Dahl, Pam DeWitt, Kathy DuBose, Edith McBee Hardaway, Chris Hartwick, Jennifer Henderson, Kevin Henderson, Patricia Kilburg, Dani Kuhn, Aimee N. Mattews, Pegi Newton, Leslie Owens, John Pendarvis, John Reid, Garry Turpin, Bennie Waddell and Andrew Wells.
