The Blue Diamond Gallery in Greensboro, NC, Features Works by Joanna Frazier Hudson and staff members of Piedmont Land Conservancy

Local photographer Joanna Frazier Hudson and staff members of Piedmont Land Conservancy (PLC) will present an exhibit of works, on view from Mar. 1 - 31, 2008, at The Blue Diamond Gallery in Greensboro, NC. The exhibit was designed to educate gallery visitors on local land protection and raise awareness of our disappearing natural areas.

This event expresses Hudson's desire to partner with local nonprofit conservation group, Piedmont Land Conservancy, by donating a percentage of her profit from art sales to PLC.

Hudson is partnering with the gallery and the Conservancy to raise awareness of local environmental issues and the Conservancy's work in protecting the Piedmont's natural areas. Blue Diamond Gallery enthusiastically supports local nonprofits by requiring that each of its exhibiting artists choose a nonprofit to partner with during the exhibition period. Hudson chose PLC because she is passionate about the work the conservancy has done and is doing across the northern Piedmont, and she wants to see as many natural areas preserved as possible.

Piedmont Land Conservancy is dedicated to preserving natural and scenic lands, farms, and open spaces in Piedmont North Carolina to enrich the quality of life for our communities and for future generations. Numerous enthusiastic volunteers, donors and partners have enabled Piedmont Land Conservancy to protect more than 15,000 acres of land since its inception in 1990.

"By partnering with Blue Diamond Gallery and Piedmont Land Conservancy, Joanna Hudson is giving PLC the opportunity to reach more individuals and educate the community about the need for local land protection", says Kevin Redding, PLC's Executive Director. "We are grateful for her generosity and for the opportunity to tell our story".

Regarding her partnership with PLC, Hudson shared "I feel honored, we all can make a difference and help the people who work so hard everyday to ensure we have a beautiful, healthy environment."
