COCO VIVO in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Roger Milinowski and Tony van Hasselt

COCO VIVO interiors and fine art gallery for relaxed living, in Charleston, SC, cordially invites collectors and lovers of fine art to experience the artworks of coastal plein air artist Roger Milinowski and watercolorist Tony van Hasselt. The exhibit will be on view from Mar. 7 through Apr. 1, 2008.

The gallery art show, entitled, Oil and Water Do Mix, will feature a selected collection of Roger Milinowski's recent small works and quick studies in oil of coastal scenes of the eastern seaboard. The exhibit best represents his dedication to depicting "a quieter, nostalgic America". The show will also feature a collection of original watercolor paintings by internationally known Tony van Hasselt.

Roger Milinowski

Milinowski's newest releases are a realistic representation of nature's true palette of color. His coastal compositions capture the light and movement of waves on a shimmering ocean or the quiet solitude of a lonely boathouse left in a bygone era. His signature skies grab a brief passage of time in motion.

Milinowski's two and three dimensional artworks have received numerous awards and are found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. He has been exhibited in galleries and art shows in Fairfield County, CT; Booth Bay, ME; Cape Cod; Martha's Vineyard; and New York City.

Tony van Hasselt

Tony van Hasselt's watercolors are done with clear, deft strokes in an impressionistic style that tell a visual story with emphasis on strong patterns of light and shade. Be it a rural landscape, a coastal view or scenes from some distant painters paradise, the viewer will share in its excitement.

van Hasselt, a Dutch native, studied under Frank Reilly in New York and organized Painting Holidays workshops. He is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, participated in national shows and has won awards in state and regional exhibits. His work has been featured in publications such as Southwest Art and American Artist, as well as William Condit's Transparent Watercolor and Valfred Thelin's Watercolor, Let the Medium Do It. He has authored several instruction books as well as articles for regional publications and The Artist's Magazine.
