The Haen Gallery in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Evan Boggess and Lennon Michalski

The Haen Gallery, located in downtown Asheville, NC, will present its latest exhibition of new work by the two accomplished young artists Evan Boggess and Lennon Michalski entitled, Split the Difference. The exhibit will open on Mar. 8 and continue through Apr. 22, 2008.

Lennon Michalski ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Evan Boggess

Both young painters are from the Appalachian region; Evan Boggess a native of Fairmont, WV, and Lennon Michalski from Lexington, KY. Boggess has recently received his BFA from Marywood University and Michalski received an MFA degree from University of Colorado at Boulder in 2006. The son of acclaimed landscape artist Lynn Boggess, Evan is continuing in the family tradition although his work, while demonstrating a similar eye for skillful realism, is predominantly figurative. Michalski's work stops a little short of realism, although bits and pieces of representational imagery entice the viewer into his abstractions. While stylistically different, both artists work in narratives, inviting their audiences to explore the characters, shapes, colors, and situations within their canvases.

Split the Difference is an exhibition dedicated to promoting the talents of two young painters well on their way to major recognition. On display will be Boggess's figurative oils with elements of the abstract and Michalski's whimsical canvases with elements of the real.
