City of North Charleston in North Charleston, SC, Features Works by Eileen Blyth and Bailie

The City of North Charleston's Cultural Arts Department is presenting the exhibits: Elements, featuring works by Eileen Blyth, and Shadowland, featuring works by Bailie, on view in the North Charleston City Gallery, located at the Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston, SC, from Mar. 2 - 31, 2009.

Eileen Blyth will display a collection of acrylic paintings and assemblages of found objects in her show titled Elements. She received her BA in Studio Art from the College of Charleston and also attended the University of South Carolina for design and illustration. Blyth has exhibited her work all over the state and currently resides in Columbia, SC.

Bailie is a professional artist and art educator based in Spartanburg, SC. He will display colored pencil portraits featuring original characters from the imaginary world of "Shadowland". He is currently working on a book and play about the characters he has created for this whimsical and spooky series. Bailie has exhibited work throughout the Tri-state area and is currently represented by Carolina Gallery in Spartanburg.

The North Charleston Cultural Arts Program is the recipient of the 2000 Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award for the Arts and receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, SC Arts Commission, and the corporate community.
