Arts Council of Beaufort County in Beaufort, SC, Features Works by Stephen Kishel

The Arts Council of Beaufort County in Beaufort, SC, will present the exhibit, Modern Art: Morning, Noon, & Night, featuring new welded metal sculpture by Stephen Kishel, on view @ ARTworks in Beaufort Town Center from Apr. 2 - 30, 2010.

Sculptures by Kishel are an alloy of nature and technology, of metal in a plastic world. Growing up, he spent his summers roughing it on a remote island in western Ontario, repairing a cabin after nature had an entire winter to reclaim it. Later he studied electronics at Ohio Institute of Technology, and worked full time in the family plastic business. Since deciding to concentrate on his art full time, Kishel has created several hundred pieces ranging in size from tabletop to corporate and public works.

This exhibit is about his time working, time spent with metal, and the time that contemporary art requires.
