The Asheville Regional Airport in Fletcher, NC, will present an exhibit of works by Rutherford County, NC, artist Lynn Padgett, as part of the “Art at the Airport” series, on view through May 14, 2014.

She has studied with Luanna Winner at Sertoma Arts Center in Wake County, with botanical illustrator Redenta Soprano at the Campbell Folk School, and with Patricia Cole-Ferullo in Tryon, NC. Padgett is an active member of the Rutherford County Visual Artists Guild and her work is regularly on display in the Visual Arts Center located in downtown Rutherfordton, NC.

Padgett has also done graphic design and typography for award-winning books and other publications. Her exhibit work can be seen the Rutherfordton Town Hall, the Rutherford County Office Building, the Bechtler House Museum, and the new Rutherford County Welcome Center at Lake Lure.

Past “Art at the Airport” exhibits have included fine photography, paintings, pottery, sculpture, and other art forms. Regional artists are invited to submit applications, and an Art Advisory Committee of local professional artists makes the selections. Each piece of art work is judged on a number of criteria and those with the highest scores are selected for display. The exhibit is housed in a gallery located near the center of the airport terminal.
