Showing at Charleston City Gallery in Charleston, SC

The City Gallery at the Dock Street Theatre in Charleston, SC, will present an exhibit of oil on masonite by local artist Will Milner from Apr. 21 - May 16 entitled Presence.

Will Milner is a Charleston artist who received his BA in Studio Art from the College of Charleston. In 1995, he received a Fine Arts Scholarship and a Laura M. Bragg Memorial Award from the College of Charleston. Milner has done several solo and group exhibitions and has also won several awards in the Piccolo Spoleto Juried Art Exhibition.

Milner defines Presence as: "Pres · ence - n. 1: the fact or condition of being present 2: the part of space within one's immediate vicinity 3: one that is present 4: the bearing, carriage or air of a person 5: something held to be present.

In my paintings, I attempt to unveil reality or to transform reality; either way, they are only my perceptions within a time and a space. With this in mind, in our fragmented world I am attempting to see something shared by all; and in our homogeneous world I am attempting to see something unique and individual. The people in my paintings are not professional models; they are generous and patient friends. Their presence was and is much appreciated."
