Jackson County Visual Arts Association in Sylva, NC, Features Works by Catch the Spirit of Appalachia Group

The Jackson County Visual Arts Association in Sylva, NC, will present a Spring exhibition entitled, Eyes on Appalachia, in its Gallery One space sponsored by the Catch the Spirit of Appalachia group, on view from Apr. 6 - 29, 2007.

Visuals of Spring by members of the Jackson County Visual Arts Association will hang on the right side of the gallery, while the Featured Artist Rooms to the left will be devoted to the Eyes on Appalachia exhibit presented by Catch the Spirit of Appalachia.

Celebrating a new beginning, the exhibit will consist of local artists whose medium consists of pastel art prints, photography, quilts, selected crafts and locally published books - all relating to Western North Carolina. With a focus on honoring and preserving the local heritage of the area, Catch the Spirit of Appalachia has bought together the words, the visual art, the crafts, the flora and fauna of the area - all captured with the eye, the heart and hands of local talented artisans.

Some of the artists being showcased are Joy Phillips Hoyle, Nancy M. Pafford, Lesa Postell, Mary Jane Queen, Victoria A. Casey McDonald, Etheree Chancellor, Linda Owen Vinson, Doreyl Ammons Cain, Amy Ammons Garza, David Ammons, Pam Dengler, Kim & Camen Lewis, Lucis Salsberry, Becky Nelson, and many more.
