The Nook Gallery in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Paul McDermott, David McDermott, and Michael McDermott

The Nook Gallery in Phil Mechanic Studios in the River Arts District of Asheville, NC, is presenting its first exhibit, Three, featuring contemporary photographic works by Paul McDermott, David McDermott, and Michael McDermott, on view through Apr. 18, 2009.

The photographs that make up this exhibition represent a selection from the archives of each photographer, chosen to reflect their distinct choices in subject matter. Due to the fact that each photographer seeks to reflect their individual perspective of the world, their distinct styles of interpretation make the current collection a comprehensive body reflecting multiple aspects of visual experience. The wide range of technical and formal approaches pins the works against one another in a complimentary juxtaposition of aesthetics and experiment.

The photographs exhibit scenes from the Asheville area as well as abroad. David has a distinct eye for the macro world identifying small insects and other elements of nature that the common eye overlooks. Michael depicts photos from his world travels as well as local backdrops in nature. Paul connects the two with photographs from Asheville and abroad including nature, interiors, and urban settings.
