Smith Galleries on Hilton Head Island, SC, Offers a Series of Jewelry Exhibits

Smith Galleries, located in The Village at Wexford, in its 21st year on Hilton Head Island, SC, has always been a source for artistic handmade jewelry. In 2009, they celebrate "the art of personal adornment" with a series of jewelry exhibitions from some of their most creative and most popular metalsmiths.

The series begins with an extensive spring showing of Ed Levin Jewelry, on view through May 30, 2009. Levin began making timeless pieces of jewelry over 50 years ago. Many of his customers are now 2nd and even 3rd generation; yet the pieces are as contemporary as they were decades ago.

A second exhibition will be on view from Apr. 20 through May 30, 2009, featuring works by Philippa Roberts, a young California jeweler with family ties to Hilton Head.

Judith Neugebauer

Later this summer an exhibition of elegant mixed metal pieces by Judith Neugebauer will be presented from May 1 through June 15, 2009, and the colorfully creative jewelry of Victoria Varga will be on view from June 5 through July 30, 2009.

To keep informed about upcoming events in the gallery, including the special jewelry shows, visit (www.smithgalleries.com) and join their eclub. You will receive e-mails about each show.
