Visual Art Exchange in Raleigh, NC, Features Treasures from China & Nepal

The Visual Art Exchange in Raleigh, NC, announces as its annual educational exhibit, Treasures from the Middle Kingdoms: The Arts & Crafts of China & Nepal, on view from May 7 - 29, 2004.

This annual educational exhibit features a myriad of artwork from basketry, carvings, metal, rugs and historical items from China and Nepal, most dating from the late 1800's. Different from museum exhibits, Visual Art Exchange will have many of these Middle Kingdom treasures available for purchase within a price range for every budget. All work is provided to Visual Art Exchange by Sam Nehme and Wolf Bolz.

Visual Art Exchange is a non-profit organization that provides support for emerging, established and young artists to grow. VAE produces monthly exhibits (many juried with cach awards) in our downtown City Market gallery. The gallery offers training opportunities for artists and a place to sell their works plus develop new skills further enhancing the arts within our community. VAE also provides opportunities for young artists, like the annual Raleigh Street Painting Festival, an annual exhibit of international works, and an annual spring exhibit of young artists. Opportunities for at-risk youth K-12 is also in the works. Every year the Visual Art Exchange presents the Margot Richter Annual Scholarship Award to a promising High School student. Visual Art Exchange is a proud recipient of the prestigious Raleigh Medal of Arts Award.
