Shain Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Jane Schmidt

Shain Gallery in Charlotte, NC, will present an exhibition of works by guest artist, Jane Schmidt, on view from May 18 through June 12, 2007.

With a Master of Fine Arts from Arizona State University, Schmidt has numerous solo shows and accolades to her credit. Inspired by abstract expressionists, she uses the subject of landscape to explore the edge between abstraction and representation with an emphasis on the expressive use of color. With decisive brush marks, Schmidt commingles vibrant colors to create a visual experience for every viewer.

Schmidt was chosen 2005 Emerging Artist by Phoenix Home and Garden Magazine, and selected to exhibit at 2007 Florence Biennale, Florence Italy. The Florence Biennale is a premier world art event where artists from around the world are chosen by a panel of art critics and historians to exhibit and compete. Schmidt has gained widespread recognition and has numerous solo and group shows throughout Arizona and the United States.

Shain Gallery located in the heart of Myers Park in Charlotte, has been on the forefront of the Charlotte art scene, since opening their doors in 1998. Shain Gallery represents many regional and national artists.
