The Blue Diamond Gallery in Greensboro, NC, Features Works by Sue Seamon

The Blue Diamond Gallery in Greensboro, NC, will present the exhibit, Faces: Follow the Dream, featuring works by Sue Seamon, on view from May 1 - 31, 2008.

After a lifetime of painting, Seamon's focus has turned to portraits, particularly those of African Americans. In her latest body of work the portraits speak volumes on past trials and triumphs while projecting a glimmering future with every face, compelling and unforgettable.

Seamon lives and works in High Point, NC, were she is an illustrator and concept designer for home furnishings photography. Considered a prodigy, art lessons began at the age of six at Peace College, where she was among a small coterie of very young children whose budding talent were trusted to the hands of the classical artist and teacher, Mable Pugh. She continued her studies at Peace until leaving home in Raleigh, NC, to attend Florida State University where she would work toward a BFA degree.

Seamon will donate her painting of New Orleans jazz musicians for a silent auction at the 2nd Annual Fundraiser Jazz Festival 2008 on May 3, 2008 from 10am to 9pm to benefit the Triad Youth Jazz Society.

Regarding her donation to benefit the Triad Youth Jazz Society, Seamon said "I can not imagine a world without the soul and passion of music or the creative texture of art. I consider it a privilege to offer my talent to benefit these young brilliant minds and the hands and hearts of the mentors who teach them."
